Guardian's App Success Sends a Signal
Combine great content, a likable brand and tool that makes mobile news reading easier and you may end up with….a new revenue source. Just two months old, the Guardian mobile app just passed 100,000 paid downloads at about $3.65 per in the UK and $3.99 in the US. That’s a third of a million dollars, a good start.
It’s a one-time fee, free from then on, at this point. Yet, it’s a milestone, as 2010 — the Great Year of Paid Content Experimentation — rolls out. Congratulations to Emily Bell and team at Guardian News & Media.
