They say they'll be using "items considered vital," and "sports statistics" and other stories. In other words, they won't use AP -- unless they do. This is like going on a diet except for "items considered vital." I suspect the no-AP policy will go out the window at the first event like the Ft. Hood shootings. It's also interesting that they waited until after the elections to try this. Are they going to kick Sam Zell off the AP board during this little experiment? After all, he's hardly considered vital.
