Patch's Carpet-Bombing: Where's the Response?
LostRemote’s Cory Bergman asks one of the questions of the moment: Where’s the big local news response to Patch:
“…I’m a little surprised that Patch’s expansion hasn’t received more, well, notes of concern among traditional local news organizations and journalism startups”.
Indeed. Bergman talks about the posting of 300 new jobs and the “veritable carpet-bombing run of new local and hyperlocal news sites”.
A jack of many digital trades, Bergman also runs, along with his wife Kate, Seattle’s well-regarded hyperlocal Next Door Media.
